Jena’s March Edit

Jena’s March Edit

Spring is in the air and everything’s giving more energy as signs of new life emerge. So this month, I’m sharing some new beginnings with you - new products and new favorite places and treats, plus I’m revisiting those promises I made to myself at the beginning of the year…

N E W   P R O D U C T   A L E R T: I am so proud to have created my holi (lash) growth mascara and I’m thrilled at the positive reviews that are already hitting my feeds. It’s a 2-in-1 mascara and lash treatment that’s not just a high-performance formula giving clump-free length and volume each day, but also one that nourishes follicles and supports healthy lash growth over time. Clinically proven to help eyelashes appear up to 32% longer and fuller, and feel up to 33% stronger, this mascara intensifies volume up to 97% in just 15 days. How? Because one of the key ingredients is Redensyl, which targets stem cells to help encourage hair growth at a cellular level while reducing hair loss. It also includes jojoba oil, biotin and panthenol which help provide moisture, protect and repair the hair follicle and strengthen brittle lashes. It’s been on pre-order and will be shipping from March 5.

G U A   S H A: It’s been around for centuries, but this technique is featuring heavily on TikTok and Instagram, with millions of views. So does it really help improve skin, banish wrinkles and eliminate puffiness? In short, yes!

This alternative therapy involves applying an oil or serum and gently scraping your skin with a smooth-edged massage tool to help improve circulation, tone and lymphatic drainage whilst relieving tension and brightening the skin (the cold metal helps with this bit!).  The benefits may not be permanent but are certainly noticeable and worth the effort (do your research on this but we’d say at least three times a week).

At Agent we’ve been combining our holi (oil) refining ageless face serum with this technique for great results. Because it contains rosa damascena oil, rosehip oil (rich in vitamins A and C), and Japanese rice bran oil (rich in vitamins B and E) it makes an ideal partner for the Face Gym multi sculpt contouring tool. We like this one as it’s made from solid medical-grade stainless steel, is long-lasting, non-irritating, easy to clean, and can be used cool or warm.

I’d recommend incorporating your gua sha into your holi (trinity) routine, so that after cleansing, you add 3 to 5 pumps of holi (water) to the palm of your hand and gently pat into skin. Then, mix a dash of holi (c) with 3 spritzes of holi (water) and apply to the complexion. To finish, massage 4-5 drops of holi (oil) into the face, neck, and décolleté.  So why not treat yourself to our holi (trinity) starter kit and boost that gua sha to the max?!

B A L M: Skin balms are big news these days and provide a natural sheen, moisture boost and protective layer without looking in the least heavy. If, like me, you like products you can use at home and have with you for on-the-go touch-ups, then this Hydra Melt dewy skin balm from Simihaze is ideal. It’s suitable for all skin types, and Shade 01 Clear works brilliantly with all complexions.

S E T T I N G   P O W D E R: I recommend twinning the balm with their Soft Blur Moisture-Lock setting powder. This works on oily areas with just a gentle dab, or you can dust it lightly over your whole face with a fluffy brush. I love this brand because, like Agent Nateur, it’s creating innovative products that really work, look great, and help save the earth. And like so many Simihaze products, these are stackable and will fit into a tiny bag.

If you’re one of our thousands of holi (mane) fans, you already know how great this daily supplement is for your skin, hair and nails. And now you can treat yourself to our travel sachets and take them to your favorite coffee shop or juice bar. I like to add mine to the Pillowtop Matcha from Pantry. It’s such a treat with its fluffy, soft, whipped topping, vanilla notes and light, marshmallowy texture.

More supplement news -  I’ve discovered Thorne Advanced Digestive Enzymes which can help with digestive issues. These capsules help with the digestion and absorption of proteins, fats, and carbs. However, I’d advise you to always check with your health consultant before starting a new supplement.

I adore the hand-sewn beads and embroidery, and delicate fade from ivory to pastel pink in this embellished stretch-tulle midi dress from Clio Peppiatt. Beloved by a host of celebs including Taylor (yep her birthday dress in December was a Clio Peppiatt!), her designs are hand-sketched first, to create stunning romantic, modern pieces.

I have found the perfect heel for springtime evenings in these Tina embellished leather sandals from Amina Muaddi. The sparkly, silver strappy design is so elegant with the cutest crystal droplets! If you’re quick, you may still be able to get them while they’re on sale.

One of my regular store visits has to be Violet Grey, on Melrose Place. Go there and you’ll have the most gorgeous, curated beauty shopping experience in the prettiest of settings. This unique place features so many products that are high on the wishlists of my friends it’s no wonder I visit so often!!

Cute and chic LA coffee spot Maru Coffee roast their own beans and produce their own fabulous blends. If you’re in town, check out the recently opened Beverly Hills branch. Go for the refreshing sparkling Yuzu lemonade or the cloud top coffee (served iced and black with a sweet, cream top). If you’re cutting down on caffeine you can ask for a less caffeinated version but still get that great balance of sweet and strong. A new thing for me to look out for these days is if a place is dog friendly - and this one most definitely is!

I promised myself I’d spend more than a few days in one time zone, be more mindful, focus on my work/life balance and take time out to decompress and ground myself. The good news is… I’m doing this! Whether it’s appreciating a sunset, snuggling my new puppy Federico, journalling, or just taking a bath, followed by my skincare routine and getting an early night, I’m feeling less stressed and more blessed. I hope you are, too.

Love, Jena x
